The judgement condemning Mr. Ratko Mladić to life imprisonment for the crimes committed during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with the previous judgements against Mr. Radovan Karadžić and others, bring justice to the victims and their families after enormous suffering that have shattered their lives in one of European history’s darkest page.
Respecting such decisions is an essential step to build up an environment where crimes against humanity are prevented and peace is assured. On the contrary, feeding revisionist theses that deny genocide and glorify war criminals is in contradiction with the founding values of the European project.
