SG Sequi attended the signing of the Letter of Intent between the Ministry of the Interior and ASEANAPOL

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, attended today the signing ceremony of a Letter of Intent to strengthen police cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior and ASEANAPOL. The event was attended by the Chief of Police, Prefect Lamberto Giannini and the Executive Director of ASEANAPOL, DAC Jim Wee.

This important event was made possible thanks to the efforts of Italian diplomacy, which has long been committed to strengthening the presence, visibility and prestige of our country in the Indo-Pacific region. Today’s signing confirms Italy’s role as a key security player in Southeast Asia. This is an area in which we can bring experience and good practices developed over decades of successful peacekeeping and counter-terrorist activities and combating organised crime in many international scenarios.
