Today, the Secretary General of the Italian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Ettore Sequi, and Prefect Silvana Riccio signed a new collaboration protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Office of the Government’s Extraordinary Commissioner for Missing Persons.
This agreement concerns in particular the exchange of information on searches for Italians who have disappeared abroad, on cases of untraceable minors, and on the victims of international abduction. This strengthened channel of communication, which will involve the entire network of Italian Embassies and Consulates abroad, will facilitate search activities.
The Memorandum of Understanding signed today marks a further important instrument aimed at the protection and assistance of Italian citizens abroad.
