Mission by Deputy Minister Marina Sereni to Ethiopia

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Marina Sereni, arrived in Ethiopia today for a three-day visit.

This is the first visit to Africa for Deputy Minister Sereni, and the first since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic by an Italian authority in the Country, who will have meetings at the political level with the President of the Republic, Sahle Work Zewdie, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen, and other Ethiopian authorities, as well as to the African Union.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister will also visit some projects in Addis Ababa financed by the Italian Cooperation.

The visit once again bears witness to the importance given by Italy to the African continent and to Ethiopia at an important moment for the Country. The high-level meetings will make it possible to take stock of the current situation and of the Italo-Ethiopian partnership.
