The Italian Consulate General in Chongqing has set out an intense agenda of events to celebrate the Italian Cuisine Week in China: interactive activities such as cooking classes in which to illustrate how to prepare the most popular Italian recipes with the right ingredients, cooking shows and food and wine tasting events to promote the knowledge of the Italian wines of excellence. The fourth edition of the Week, which will run from 18 to 24 November 2019, will unfold around the theme: “Food education: the culture of taste”. The activities programmed include 40 events and promotional activities of different types organised with the contribution of 15 restaurants and lounge bars, 5 luxury hotels, three ice-cream parlours and the most important supermarket of imported products in Chongqing.

This year, the Week will also witness the launch of the “Passport of Italian Taste” initiative, implemented in cooperation with the Italian Board of Tourism (ENIT), which envisages the distribution, free of charge, of passports listing the typical dishes and wines of excellence of our Country, region by region. This “Passport of Italian Taste” also lists the restaurants, bars and other facilities that participate in the Italian Cuisine Week 2019. A stamp is placed on the passport on every visit paid to each one of these places. The people succeeding to obtain 20 stamps over the course of one year will be conferred the title of “Ambassador of Italian Cuisine” and will participate in the draw of a Chongqing-Rome airline ticket offered by Hainan Airlines.
