Bratislava: Sardinian municipalities at ‘Slovakia Tour’ fair

A delegation of Sardinian municipalities, bodies and consortia came to Bratislava to participate in the most important tourism fair in Slovakia, ‘Slovakia Tour’. The Ambassador of Italy in Slovenia, Gabriele Meucci, receiving the delegates, underlined that “the participation of Sardinian bodies and consortia, together with economic operators, in this significant event is an opportunity to further consolidate the already fruitful economic, commercial and tourist links between Italy and Slovakia and to make Sardinia better known to the Slovak public”. In a meeting organized at the Ambassador’s residence with representatives of government authorities, local institutions, the international community and local operators in the tourism sector, the excellence of Sardinia’s landscape, food and wine and culture were presented and enhanced. The representatives of the delegation from Sassari also introduced the “network of large shoulder-mounted machines”, a UNESCO intangible heritage shared by four Italian cities, including the Sardinian municipality. These are large processional structures that are carried on shoulders during four religious festivals held in Viterbo, Nola, Palmi and Sassari.
