The Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo put together a rich programme of events to celebrate the Italian Cuisine Week in Norway. An evening dedicated to “A taste of Italy” took the Norwegian audience on a virtual journey through vineyards from Piedmont and Tuscany to Sicily, illustrating Italian wine and food tradition. A Norwegian wine master recreated the magic of Italy’s wine-producing regions by sharing photos, videos, words and several different wines. A tasting of regional products and wines wrapped up the event. The Week’s programme also included “In Vino VeryTanz”, an event entirely dedicated to the Jewish culinary culture in Italy. In “Vino VeryTanz” celebrated the bond between music and wine in Jewish tradition. Songs were sung in different languages – Hebrew, Ladino, Yiddish, Aramaic and Jewish-Italian dialects, as well as in English and Russian, with a touch of the captivating sound of the Hassidic and Sephardic tradition. Music was followed by the creations of Chef Giovanni Terracina, who prepared tastings of products of the Italian-Jewish tradition.
