Italian Cuisine Week: Brussels presents typical dishes of the Lucanian tradition

The typical dishes of the region of Lucania travel to Brussels to celebrate the Italian Cuisine Week in the World. The specialties will be presented by Michelin-star winning Chef Giuseppe Misuriello at the dinner organised by Italian Ambassador Elena Basile for the members of the Belgian and Italian world of politics, business and culture. The Director General of the Fondazione Matera 2019, Paolo Verri, will illustrate the beauty of the Lucania region and the activities that the Foundation carried out during the European Year of Cultural Heritage which focused around Matera, the “City of Stones”. The programme for the rest of the week continues with a number of events coordinated by the Embassy, including a photo-video exhibition on the Basilicata region and the inhabitants of Matera through the lens of 56 European photographers, the “True Italian Taste” event organised by the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce and dedicated to the “Italian-sounding” phenomenon, and a concert by a string quartet at the Italian Cultural Institute.
