The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, will receive German Foreign Minister Franck-Walter Steinmeier and French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault  tomorrow in Rome. The meeting will be hosted at Villa Madama. After the meeting, the Foreign Affairs Ministers will hold a joint press conference.

The meeting’s agenda will focus on the Syrian dossier, following the alarming developments on the ground, but also on European security and defence, relations with Russia, migration flows and the future of Europe after the British referendum and in light of  the 60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, and the Summit of the 27 EU member States to be held in March 2017.

The meeting is an Italian initiative, which also follows in the wake of the Ventotene Summit held last August between Italy, France and Germany, and offers the principal EU post-Brexit Countries the opportunity to discuss the major challenges facing Europe. 

Il Ministro degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale Paolo Gentiloni riceve  a Roma il Ministro degli Esteri tedesco Frank-Walter Steinmeier e il Ministro degli Esteri francese Jean-Marc Ayrault. L’incontro, che si svolge a Villa Madama, sarà seguito da una conferenza stampa congiunta dei tre Ministri.

Sul tavolo dei colloqui tra i tre Partner europei, il dossier siriano, sullo sfondo dei preoccupanti sviluppi sul terreno, ma anche sicurezza e difesa europea, rapporti con la Russia, migrazioni e futuro dell’Europa in seguito al referendum britannico ed in vista del Sessantesimo Anniversario dei Trattati di Roma e del Vertice a 27 che si terrà nel marzo 2017.

L’incontro nasce su iniziativa italiana, anche sulla scia del Vertice tra Italia, Francia e Germania di Ventotene dell’agosto scorso, come occasione di confronto tra i principali Paesi della Unione Europea post-Brexit sulle maggiori sfide cui l’Europa deve far fronte.
