Myanmar: Opening of gas duct to export natural gas to China


The Shwe Gas and Oil Pipeline connecting the Shwe and Mya offshore deposits in Myanmar with Kunming, capital of the Chinese province of Yunnan, became operative in July. The duct is owned by SEAGO, launched by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and the Burmese State-owned Myanmar Oil & Gas Enterprise (MOGE), with which the Korean Daewoo and Kogas and India’s Gail are associated.

Germany: Generali Deutschland (I sem) assets at 224 million


The Generali Deutschland group saw their assets dip by 6.2% in the first half of the year as a result of the floods that devastated vast areas of Germany in late spring. The group registered a strong increase, on the other hand, in premium collections, confirming the group’s achievement of its target result.

Spain: debt with BCE down to €248.3 billion (July)


As reported by the Bank of Spain, the Spanish banking system’s debt with the BCE dropped once again in July to the lowest level since July 2012, to €248.3 billion in July as compared with June’s €240.05 billion, and well under the €388.7 billion record of August 2012.

Russia: Fitch confirms BBB rating


The Fitch ratings agency confirmed Russia’s BBB rating for the long term, citing a stable outlook that includes factors such as a lower vulnerability to oil-price shocks, given the quantity of barrels produced by Federal sources.
