4th edition of the Italian Cuisine Week in the World opens in Kiev

The 4th edition of the Italian Cuisine Week in the World opened in Kiev. This year’s edition is dedicated to the theme of “Food Education: Culture of Taste” and is co-organised by the Italian Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute and the ICE Agency offices.

The Week’s special guest will be the Michelin-star winning Chef Claudio Sadler who will hold two masterclasses for Ukrainian chefs at the Kiev Food Market on 20 November.

On the evening of 21 November, his dishes will be the crux of a gala dinner attended by representatives of the Ukrainian political, economic and cultural spheres, the diplomatic corps and the media, organised in partnership with catering and distribution companies operating in Kiev.

A big tasting event dedicated to “Prosecco, Prosciutto and Parmigiano”, organised in cooperation with a renowned Italian winemaker, will be held on 29 November for the second consecutive year to raise the awareness of a large public on the peculiarity of the products whose designation of origin (DOCG and DOP) is protected and controlled. The Week will close in Odessa with a traditional Italian-style ‘Aperitivo’ that will be accompanied by a concert by pianist Alexey Botvinov.

Until 24 November, Italian food and wine products will be on a special promotion at the points of sale of two important Ukrainian large distribution chains. “Now at its fourth year, this Week has turned into a moment of great expectation and relevance in Ukraine thanks to a public that not only enormously appreciates our cuisine and our local productions but is also revealing to be increasingly sensitive and attentive to the selection of high-quality products,” said Ambassador  Davide La Cecilia at a meeting with journalists at the official launch of the Week with a tasting by Chef Marco Cervetti.

The Italian Ambassador also informed the public of the #HelpVenice solidarity campaign that has been launched by the Foreign Ministry to support the city of Venice, an activity that is due to be repeated at all the events scheduled to celebrate the Italian Cuisine Week over the next few days.
