The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condemnation, without reservation, of the bloody terrorist attack on the residents of Camp Hurriya (Camp Liberty) and the Iraqi police, along with its condolences to the families of the victims and hopes for the rapid recovery of the wounded.
“This tragic event”, Minister Emma Bonino declared, “confirms the need for the European Union and the United Nations to step up efforts to aid the government of Baghdad in resolving the situation of the Camp Liberty refugees, safeguarding their security and encouraging their reception in third countries”.
