Italian citizens involved in a road accident in Kenya: two deaths

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Embassy of Italy in Nairobi and the Honorary Consulate in Mombasa, is following the case of a road accident that occurred today in Kenya, near the town of Diani.

A small bus carrying six Italians was involved in the accident, the circumstances of which are being ascertained by local authorities: one compatriot died instantly, a second Italian passenger died after being hospitalized.

The Italians were organized and followed by an Italian tour operator that instructed its representatives in Kenya to provide assistance to the 4 injured people hospitalized in at least two different hospitals. The Consul in Mombasa, the Consular Agent in Diani and the staff of the Embassy in Nairobi have already arrived or are arriving at the site of the accident and at the hospitals where the injured are hospitalized.

The Embassy of Italy has also been in contact with local authorities to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
