On the day that the Italy-Africa Conference is being held at the Farnesina, the African Union and Res4Africa signed a letter of intent to launch a project to train decision-makers, officials and operators in numerous African Countries with the aim of promoting the renewable energy sector. The training project will be structured into theoretical classes and on-the-job practice to enable decision-makers and operators of the sector to acquire the necessary professional skills and to develop, assess and implement the best solutions for the continent’s different contexts with a view to efficiently integrating renewable energy sources in the electricity markets of emerging and developing Countries. Renewable energy is the main way of remedying the problem of energy poverty in Africa with the consequent creation of jobs, socio-economic growth and environmental sustainability.
