“Fare Cinema” is back to promote Italian films across the world

The appointment for the promotion of Italian cinema in the world is back. The second edition of “Fare Cinema” (Making Cinema), the initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the aim of making Italian quality films known across the world, with the support of the diplomatic-consular network and the Institutes of Culture, will take place from 20 to 26 May. This year “Fare Cinema” will be dedicated to the crafts of the film-making industry and to all the professionals – actors, directors, screenwriters, cinematographers, set designers, composers, costume designers, makeup artists, editors, special effects experts etc. – who make up the complex machine of film production. 100 testimonials in 100 different cities will talk about these crafts and trades through lectures, meetings with the public, seminars, they will speak about their daily work, made of passion, creativity and great technical skills.   

The program of the 2019 edition, which received the collaboration of MIBAC, ANICA and Istituto Luce-Cinecittà and is part of the integrated promotion plan “Vivere ALL’Italiana”, will be presented on Thursday 9 May at 6 pm at the MACRO Asilo in Rome by the Secretary General, Ambassador Elisabetta Belloni, by the Director General for the Promotion of Italy, Vincenzo De Luca, by the Director General of Cinema of MIBAC, Mario Turetta, in the presence of the representatives of ANICA, Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, the ICE Agency and the Experimental Center of Cinematography. Guest of honor of the evening will be the director Dario Argento.
