To celebrate the Third Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, the Italian Embassy in Mexico, through its cooperation with “Crea Italian Connections”, organised several activities, including extremely crowded master classes and cooking experiences, in addition to three original gala dinners held in prestigious hotels in San Miguel de Allende (the Belmond), Puebla (the Rosewood) and in Mexico City, at the El Mayor restaurant, from which people can enjoy a spectacular view of the excavations of the Templo Mayor, the ruins of the large Aztec pyramid.
A quartet of talented and creative Chefs – Alessandro Circiello, Daniele Priori, Giuseppe Di Bella, Sergio Spoletini – delighted the guests with their recipes, fruit of the merging of Italian and Mexican cuisine, who included personalities from the world of culture, art, fashion, design, business as well as institutional authorities and representatives of the Italian community. The Mexico City dinner was attended by almost 100 guests, including the Governor of the Federal District, famous fashion designer Cristina Pineda and Italian writer Dacia Maraini, who is in Mexico to take part in the Guadalajara Book Fair.
The event confirmed once again the growing, widespread and sincere “desire for Italy” among Mexicans as they see Italy, its lifestyle and its artisanal and local know-how, as a model to admire, study and emulate.
