For the 4th Italian Cuisine Week in the World, the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in Buenos Aires organises a number of events hosting as guest star the Michelin-star winning chef Giuseppe Costa, who has been invited by the Cultural Institute to perform several activities promoting Italian gastronomy in Buenos Aires. In Argentina, Costa will share his experiences in a series of meetings, in which he will make an overview of his profession, from the most technical to the most personal aspects of his story.
The Week will open on 19 November with an event hosted at the IIC’s Benedetto Croce Hall titled “Cuisine, Culture and Language”. In this event, Giuseppe Costa will meet with the public to narrate his personal story and career, accompanied by writer and journalist Daniela Di Segni, who will pay homage to Italian culinary tradition in Argentina, analysing the use of our language in Argentinian cuisine in general and in the ‘porteña’ culinary tradition in particular.
On 21 November, the IIC offers a tasting event called “Il Mare di Sicilia” (“The Sea of Sicily”) at the Sheraton Hotel in Buenos Aires, where Costa will offer participants a taste of a number of dishes that he has created as a re-interpretation and reinvention of the great Sicilian tradition. In preparing for and implementing the event, Costa will be assisted by Leonardo Fumarola, an Italian chef living in Buenos Aires, to highlight the ties and exchanges between Italy and Argentina in the culinary art. Moreover, again for the Italian Cuisine Week, the ‘Buono’ restaurant of the Sheraton Hotel will offer a menu specifically elaborated by Giuseppe Costa, again drawing inspiration from the Sea of Sicily.
Costa’s activities will close with a Master Class on 22 November conducted by local professionals of the sector which was fully booked-up only shortly after it was announced.
