The events organised by the Italian Embassy in Stockholm for the Italian Cuisine Week in the World, in partnership with the other Italian institutions and agencies present in Sweden, kick off today with a programme ranging from the performance of famous opera arias to ‘reuse’ recipes with guest of honour Neapolitan Chef Pietro Parisi, to the “pleasures” of Modena’s wine and gastronomic tradition, including a selection of the best Italian wines presented by over 80 winemaking companies.
The programme, with a view to linking up to the closing of the year of Matera, European Culture Capital 2019, will close with a thematic dinner at the Embassy, in which Chef Federico Valicenti will capitalise on the still little-known wine and gastronomic wealth of the region. The dinner will aim to explore the traditions that underpin food and eco-sustainability education, which are the leitmotif of the 4th edition of the Week: “Food education: the culture of taste”.
The initiatives will also be based on the cooperation of many local restaurants which, for the occasion, will include in their menus Mediterranean Diet-inspired dishes, which will also be the topic of a workshop on balanced diets.
